The Mane Attraction

A study of historic artistic and cultural expression…

The digital canvas artwork The Mane Attraction is inspired by the work of Edward Curtis with a focus on the variety of headdresses and hairstyles across the Plains tribes of the American West.

The artistic process for this piece is a visual echo of photographic observation: a subtle insight becoming a fully realized vision through inspired and intentional enhancement.  The visual effects and vibrant colors reflect the creative variation and storytelling of the headdresses and hairstyles.

The Mane Attraction is an edition of 6 with a duration of 12:00 minutes, and is on display at the Smithsonian-affiliate Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, Georgia.
