New Arrival for 2023: Spirit Catcher

130 years in the making……

Artist R. Tom Gilleon, in collaboration with Marshall McLaury Monroe, brings the photography of Edward Curtis to life in this stunning monumental Digital Canvas original triptych entitled Shadow Catcher. The work consists of three panels presenting as 10’ 1” Wide and 5’ 5” High, with an artistic and painterly animated sequence of 22-minute duration.

This work is being offered as a restricted edition of eight, with two artist proof editions. The production progress of the piece has already been showcased at the Booth Western Art Museum at their annual Cowboy Festival and Symposium in October 2022.

Spirit Catcher captures the dramatic portraiture of many original Native American photographs with a re-imagined color and sequenced composition enrichment by the artists. The work also includes cinematic landscape images of a Piegan tipi camp and horses. This work is available for viewing directly by appointment only. Contact hannah@mixonium.com for details.

Spirit Catcher will also be featured on display at the Museum of the West R. Tom Gilleon Retrospective in Scottsdale, AZ starting early 2024.
